Final Project

This is my final project, I chose these colors because I like bright colors. Making this was really fun because I had forgotten all the projects we had done over the semester. While creating this portfolio I found the type tool to be the most useful. Having different layers definitely helped and made the process easier.

The project that I enjoyed the most was the somewhere project. I enjoyed putting myself in a place where it is rare I will ever be. This class started out hard but after a couple days, I started to get the hang of it. It was definitely a learning experience and I will definitely take another class to improve my skills.

Logos

 

Artist Statement:

In this project, I had to create a logo that represented me. I chose to do an anchor with the helm in the middle. I was basically born in the water, I have been around the ocean and boats since I was a little kid. This project was fun to make because I was doing something that represented me as a person. After completing this project in illustrator, I was satisfied with the outcome. I made each logo with different colors to represent the basic colors that are seen in a boat. Blue, because almost every boat has something blue. Brown because my father's boat has teak and I wanted to make my logo with that color. 

Calligram Project

Artist Statement: 

When the project was introduced I didn't know what I wanted to do. I began to think about ideas to make the text look cool and creative. After thinking about what I was going to do I began to work on my project. The first step was to write what I wanted to say to my future self. After having written down the text I began to work o the shape. I found out that the shape I wanted to use was already in illustrator. This made it easier to do because I drew out the shape and once I had it where I wanted it, I proceeded to paste the text so that the text will be the shape.

BW to Color

In this assignment, I chose one of my favorite pictures of myself and colored over the natural colors to make it different. I used a website called color. adobe. This website gave me the opportunity of picking different colors so that I would be able to do this project. I enjoyed this project because I was painting over myself to make the picture look different and cool.

Business Cards

    As an Entrepreneurship major this project really helped me. When I was told that we where going to do business cards I thought about it as a good thing to learn because I would probably have to create a business card in the future and I now know how to do it myself. I had a lot of fun while making these because I got an insight look on how these are made and that they are not that simple to create. 

    At first I was nervous because I didn't understand InDesign but after playing around with it and learning from class I felt prepared when the time came to do the project. When I first began the project I had many ideas in head and couldn't decide which one to do. So I joined all of my ideas and added different objects to my cards to make them more creative and have more color and objects. This project was really fun to do because I would probably have my own in the future.

The direct selection tool I think will be really useful because I can modify any object that I want. I can start off with a basic square and use the direct selection tool to personalize the shape that I want to create. I think this will be useful because when I have to do future projects I can use this tool to create any shape that I want to come up with my project and make it look more creative.

The text tool will come in handy in every project that you can think of. Mostly, the upcoming projects I have to do are business cards. In this project, I will take advantage of this tool to write in any place in the file. This tool will be very useful because you don't have to write in another program and paste it into InDesign, just click the Type tool and begin writing in any place you want.

A feature that I find really cool in InDesign is the option to have multiple pages in one document. This allows you to do many projects in one file instead of making numerous files to do more projects. For example, I have an upcoming project that requires two sides, I will simply add more pages and continue doing my project instead of creating new files and adding them into a folder. Just keep adding how many pages you need and keep working on your project in the same file.
